Halloween Book Reviews

31 Oct

Here are some new Halloween kids books.

Ten Orange Pumpkins by Stephen Savage- Stephen Savage’s distinct illustrative style plus his fun cast of spooky characters plus an educational element mixed in with the story equal a great read aloud for young readers.

Click ,Clack, Boo! by Doreen Cronin, Illustrated by Betsy Lewin- Farmer Brown and his barnyard animals are back just in time to throw a Halloween party. But Farmer John is not a fan and would rather stay indoors and in bed. Until he hears some mysterious sounds… The onomatopoeias make this a fun picture book.

Monster Need One More by Natalie Marshall- Numbers and adding are weaved into this cute picture book about different monsters’ adventures throughout the day leading to a sweet bedtime ending for one of them.

The Spooky Box by Mark Gonyea- When a mysterious box arrives, readers are encouraged to guess what’s inside. Bold illustrations accompany some of the spooky guesses.

Guess Who? By Jannie Ho- This is a cute board book featuring different masks. I love this format for grabby babies- and there are some pop-up elements in it.
