I really loved the voice in these books. Very inquisitive. Very casual, like listening to a friend talk about some fascinating people. Looking at Lincoln included the Gettysburg Address in its endpapers. Thomas Jefferson has an excerpt of the Declaration of Independence. Both books include more historical information and lists of resources after the story. I think these books will be great in sparking young people’s interests to seek out more about these two.

The author takes readers in a tour of Pacific Northwest plant and animal life using cut-paper illustrations. My only quibble was what X stood for. Available February 25th.

A fun and colorful addition to the Larry Gets Lost series finds the dog and its owner back in Portland. Letters are hidden in some of the illustrations. Available March 18th.
