This week’s a great week for picture books!
The latest installment in the Fancy Nancy series finds the titular character disappointed that the wedding she’s been dreaming up won’t be as fancy as she thought it would be. She won’t even be the flower girl! Lots of people seem to be avoid the stereotypical girly girls but these books are good for vocabulary.
Steve Light takes readers in an impressively illustrated tour of a city as a boy searches for his dragon. I really love the black and white line drawings with bursts of color. Great counting and search-and-find book, too! Check under the dustjacket for a differ cover illustration!
Good for kids who enjoy Blue’s Clues. Cute illustrations. I can’t imagine why they just didn’t put this republished series in board book format.
First of all, cute title! This picture book tells the aquatic adventures of a seahorse and a jellyfish. A crab who constantly taunts them suddenly finds himself in danger. Will the two friends help their tormentor? A good story about giving and asking for forgiveness.
An imaginary creature does the unimaginable- seeks out a real live child to be his friend. A great message of not giving up when if it’s a friend you want, a friend you’ll get if you just put in the effort.
