Malala, a Brave Girl from Pakistan/Iqbal, a Brave Boy from PakistanMalala, a Brave Girl from Pakistan/Iqbal, a Brave Boy from Pakistan by Jeanette Winter
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Jeannette Winter offers two stories of brave children fighting for a better future for themselves and other children not only in Pakistan where they lived but in all over the world.

Most of us are familiar with Malala’s story. I love that Iqbal’s courageous yet tragic story gets to be shared. I hope kids can see what a difference they can make- and I hope adults encourage them.

A letter to Nobel Peace Prize receipient Malala Yousafzai showcases how her words and actions have inspired a new generation of girls from all over the world to stand up for their right to an education. Includes an excerpt of her speech when she presented in the UN plus some steps anyone can do right now to be part of this necessary cause.

That second one looks good with all the others, Elisabeth. What an inspiration she is to share with students!

I have not read any of the Malala stories. I really need to, her story should be shared!

Like Michele, I haven’t read any of Malala’s books yet – but I know that they are important reads! Looking forward to reading them soonest, particularly the Jeanette Winter PBBs! πŸ™‚
