How is summer flying by so quickly?
I went to the Oregon Coast again for Fourth of July and had a great time visiting bookstores and libraries and beaches.
The bookstore I work at celebrated its 10-year anniversary. And I just celebrated 7 years there!
I decided to consider my Oregon Carnegie Libraries Challenge completed.
I changed my blog’s design up. I wanted to lighten it up a bit. I also decided to take down its Facebook page since I wasn’t really using it. I also deleted my personal Twitter account because (1) I was wasting too much time online in general and (2) it was getting a bit too toxic there for my taste.
I reached my goal of 200 volunteer hours for the year. I’m at 1600 soul boxes with the stretch goal of 2000.
I’m up to 395 books read for 2019. I’ve made so much progress with my Agatha Christie reading challenge that I’m hoping to complete it by mid-August.
Reading Challenges Update:
-Agatha Christie titles- 24 out of 26
-Nonfiction Picture Books- 68 out of 104
-Middle Grade & Early Chapter- 43 out of 104 (I may have overshot my expectations with this one. Plus I had other reading challenges that kind of took away from it.)
Everyone’s going through something. I know that that’s always been the case but sometimes like right now it’s more apparent. And “something” is usually negative or scary or causes major life disturbances. And, don’t even get me started on world issues when we’re all trying to just make it through the day ourselves. I hope if you’re in the position to give something of yourself to help others that you do so. And if you’re not, that’s OK, too. And give yourself a break. And I know it sounds a bit hollow without actions to prove it but know that you are loved and someone (like me!) is always rooting for you to get the best that life has to offer.
